Description
Nos. 2, 3, and 4 High Street are three adjoining houses built in the mid-19th century. They are constructed of grey and yellow brick and have slate roofs. Originally part of a block of five houses, two at the northern end have been significantly altered. Each house is two stories tall and features a narrow front. The layout of the houses is arranged as B:A:B. There is a large internal chimney that is shared by two of the houses. Each house has a door that is set away from the fireplace, and there is one front window on each floor, positioned directly above one another. A blind recess is centrally located between the chimneys, situated above the pair of doors. The houses have flush two-light casement windows with flat gauged arches on both floors. The eaves project with a painted soffit, and the doorways are round-headed arches with a plastered recess above each door, framed heavily. These houses are included in the listing for their group value.
