Gateway and frontage wall to school. 'FDR/1848' on shield over gateway (for Frederick Dudley Ryder who built the school in 1848 - see epitaph in church). Flint with red brick dressings. A central entrance gateway with Tudor arch and pointed gable, in a low flint wall with angular red brick coping over a toothed course.
