Description
This is an 18th-century barn located at The Holt Farm, positioned on the north side of the forecourt, approximately 30 meters northwest of the house. The barn features a timber frame that is dark weatherboarded, with the ground floor encased in red brick. It has a steep roof made of old red tiles and consists of a long range of 13 bays facing south, which encloses that side of the forecourt. The roof is designed with clasped purlins, with a single purlin on each slope supported by inclined queen-struts to the collars. There is a mid-height rail in the rear wall that is staggered in pairs. The barn has double doors leading to the yard in the second bay and three stable doors on the right-hand side, with windows inserted above the doors. A fox windvane is positioned on the middle of the ridge. This barn is included for its group value.
