Description
29, 31, and 33 Mill Street are a pair of houses that date from the 16th century or earlier, with a broad 17th century cross wing at the northern end. The houses have a timber frame with a base made of clunch and brick. The walls are covered in 20th century pargetted cement and painted white, and they feature a plain tile roof. The buildings are two storeys high, with the cross wing having an attic. There are four windows in total, all of which are square and diamond leaded casements set in 17th century metal frames. The houses have two 20th century plank doors. The south gable end is wide and shows exposed floor plates, with a four-light casement on the ground floor and a three-light casement on the first floor. No. 29, which is late 16th century, is one storey with attics and has three similar leaded casements along with two gabled attic dormers. It has a machine tile roof and the front range features two 20th century red brick chimney stacks.
