Description

No 42b on The Street is an 18th-century house that was later used for storage. It has a timber frame that is plaster and cement rendered, with 20th-century pargetting on the gable end walls. The steeply pitched roof is covered in corrugated iron, although it was originally thatched. The entrance front faces away from the road, and the building is a single storey with scattered window openings. The exposed timber studs are a notable feature, along with a single dormer. In the south gable, there is a four-light fixed casement window that contains early 20th-century stained glass.
