Description
The North Hertfordshire District Council Offices, originally built as a Friends' Meeting House in 1840, is a two-storey stuccoed building characterized by its simple design. It has a long rectangular shape topped with a flat hipped slate roof. The ground floor extends forward from the long side and is covered by a flat roof. The upper storey features five windows with plain reveals, while the projecting lower storey has walls for three central windows. Each end of the projection was originally open as loggias supported by Doric pillars. A modern wing with eight windows, designed to match the original style, projects at right angles on the left side.
