Description

Ballslough Farmhouse is a farmhouse that dates back to the 16th century and was extended to form an L shape in the 17th century. It features a red brick casing from the 18th century and early 19th century, with a plain tile roof. The building has two storeys and the road-facing elevation includes two half-hipped gable ends that show exposed studwork, which is more prominent on the eastern side. At the western end, there is a single-storey weatherboarded shed. The main range consists of four parts and has three segmental-headed glazing-bar casements on the western side. The two bays closest to the road are the oldest and contain a large 16th-century inglenook fireplace with a roll-moulded lintel in the middle. The two bays furthest from the road date from the 18th century and 1825, as indicated by a dated brick, and feature brick dentilled eaves. There is a ridge chimney stack made up of joined square shafts.
