Description
The White Horse Public House is a public house dating from the early 18th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. It is constructed of brick and plaster, featuring a tiled roof, except for the rear pitch of the front range roof, which is covered in asbestos. The building has a long, low range with a parallel range added to the rear and stands two storeys high with five windows. There are entrances located in the second and fourth bays, with the left entrance featuring a moulded architrave but currently unused. The first floor has glazing bar sash windows, although the second window from the left is blocked. The ground floor includes 19th-century canted bay windows, with a larger block to the right connected by a verandah. The roof is hipped to the right, and there is a ridge stack above the right-hand entrance and a gable end stack to the left. A 20th-century single-storey entrance extension is present on the left side. The rear range is made of exposed brick with some weatherboarding and includes some glazing bar sash windows. It has a hipped roof and a cross axial ridge stack. Inside, the ground floor has been entirely remodelled, but remnants of an inglenook can be found on the left end wall, along with a stop-chamfered binding beam. The first floor was not inspected. A good painted sign is also present.
