Description

This horse trough, dedicated in 1892 to the memory of the Countess of Strafford, is located on the northwest side of the Great North Road in Potters Bar, Barnet. It is made of granite and features rounded corners. The front of the trough is incised with the name of the Metropolitan Drinking Fountain and Cattle Trough Association. At the northern end, there is an ogee head on the vertical tap slab, and the trough includes a semi-circular bowl designed for a drinking fountain.
