Description
The Angel Public House is a house that has been converted into a public house with living accommodation above. It dates from the 17th century and was altered and extended in the 19th century. The building is timber-framed and finished with stucco, topped by an old tiled roof featuring moulded cusped and pierced bargeboards. A red brick chimneystack with oversailing courses is present.
The structure has two storeys and attics, with two flush sash windows on both the ground and first floors, and the first-floor windows have glazing bars. There is one attic sash window that includes margin glazing bars. The central entrance door is topped by a gabled door hood adorned with ornamental bargeboards. A band runs along the first floor.
At the rear, there is a lower single-storey wing with attics, featuring a red tiled roof that slopes down low on the west side, a central brick chimney, and two casement dormers. Additionally, there is a 19th-century single-storey east wing set at an angle, which is also stuccoed and includes a canted bay window with sashes, a gabled doorhead with elaborate bargeboards, and a Welsh slated roof.
