6, Parliament Square

No. 6 Parliament Square is a shop with a dwelling above, featuring a mid-19th century refronting of an 18th-century building. The front is made of stucco over brick, while the rear is timber-framed and plastered. The roof is covered with old tiles, hipped and set behind a parapet at the front, and has a yellow brick chimney with red clay pots on the left side.

The building is two storeys tall. On the first floor, there is a single timber sash window with glazing bars, centrally located in a large arcaded recess. Above this, there is a plat band and a blocking course. The ground floor features two Tuscan pilasters on the left with blank walling in between, and one on the right. The 19th-century shopfront includes twin leaf, three-quarter glazed timber doors with a bolection surround on the lower panel, and a plain fanlight set centrally, recessed between plate-glazed display windows that have a timber sill above a 20th-century tiled stallriser. There is a fascia and a moulded cornice at the first-floor level. To the right, there is a carriageway leading to Nos 2 and 4, with the first floor above lining through. The interior has not been inspected.
