Description
Old Walls at Number 6, also known as The Manor House, are 17th-century structures that were altered in the 19th century. They are made of red brick in English bond, with later work in Flemish bond. The walls are connected to the house and create two large rectangular enclosures to the north and west of the house, serving as buttressed retaining walls for the road to the west. The walls rise 2 to 3 meters high from road level, while the garden is 1 to 2 meters lower. The roadside face of the wall to the north of the drive entrance features a panelled design, with the central bay rebuilt in the later 20th century. This face includes a plinth, pilasters, and a dentilled corbel course that supports an enlarged head with weathered coping.
