Description
Nos. 52-56 on Cambridge Road are a block of five houses built in the 17th century and renovated in the 1970s. The houses have a timber frame that is plastered on the front and weatherboarded on the rear and west end facing the road. They feature a high plastered plinth and a steep old red tile roof, which has five small gabled dormers at the eaves on both the front and rear. Each of the five one-and-a-half-storey houses has shared lean-to porches and French windows that alternate along the north front. There are three central chimneys and five small windows on the rear wall. The west gable is topped with a bargeboard that has a pendant. Inside, the roof structure consists of clasped-purlin construction with collars and angle-struts in the trusses.
