House. C16 and C17. Small timberframed plastered, one and a half storeys facing W. Black painted plinth. S part stepped up. Steep thatched half-hipped roof with 2 2-light dormers on front wall plate. Small modern brick and tile porch, 2-light C19 casements. Small flat roofed single storey rear projection c.1960. Central chimney plan with winding stair at rear of stack. Door now into parlour. Larger S part a former open hall with floor inserted in C17 when chimney built and N end rebuilt. Very steep clasped purlin roof. Fine inserted cross beam in hall chamfered with ogee and bar stops, wide brick fireplace with 2 small cusped recesses. Chamfered and stopped axial beam in N part carried on faceted corbel to N and similar chamfered and stopped cross beam near chimney. This is also chamfered on its back edge and supported on moulded shouldered post to E similar to that in The Bury, Bury Green. Original service rooms probably extended to S.
