Description
61 High Street is a house, probably from the 17th century, which was altered after 1886 when its front and west side were cased in brick. The building is timber-framed and plastered, topped with an old red tiled roof. The front is made of yellow brick, while the west side is painted brick. It is a two-storey house with a gable facing the street. The front part is slightly higher, with a lower two-storey section behind that features a large red brick external gable chimney. At the rear, there is a one-storey gabled extension and a small tiled gabled porch. The front facade has two storeys and a parapet, with a hipped tiled roof. There are two windows to the right of the door on both floors, and a narrower blind recess above the door. The windows are recessed sash types with red gauged brick flat arches and 6/6 panes. The entrance features a half-glazed door with a rectangular fanlight and a hood.
