Description

The footbridge over the River Mimram, dating from the mid-19th century, features three cast-iron segmental arches with an arched top and pierced spandrels. It has a cast-iron curb plate and wrought-iron handrails that include bar uprights and two rod rails threaded through, along with a flat bar handrail that has scroll ends. The railings, also from the mid-19th century and restored in the 1990s, consist of cast-iron with plain spurs and flat bars between Tuscan columns topped with knob finials. These railings are set over a rebuilt red brick retaining wall and extend 62 metres south from the bridge.
