Description

The boundary railings and gates to St Andrew's Churchyard and the Old Rectory are located along the frontage to Castle Bridges in Hertford. These railings date from the early to mid-19th century and are made of cast iron. They feature plain spear uprights, flat intermediate supports with ogee bracing, and knob finials. The gates leading into the Churchyard, positioned opposite the west tower of the Church, and those to the Old Rectory at the south end of the railings are set in octagonal posts topped with inverted bell and knob caps. The overall length of the railings is approximately 72 meters.
