Description
No. 50 St Andrew Street is a house that has been converted into offices, dating from the early to mid-19th century. It is built from yellow stock brick in Flemish bond and features a low-pitched roof covered with Welsh slates, which has a panelled soffit and bracketed eaves.
The building has three storeys and a three-bay facade that is divided by brick pilasters. There is a plain stucco band at the first floor and a moulded band with a cornice at the second floor. The first floor has three sash windows, arranged as 12:12:16-pane, set in shallow reveals beneath rubbed brick flat arches, and each window has a stone sill. The second-floor windows are 6:6:8-pane. On the ground floor, there is a carriageway to the left, and in the central bay, a doorway features a six-panel door flanked by slim reeded pilasters and a plain semicircular fanlight, all recessed within an outer brick arch that has a stucco impost band. To the right of the doorway, there is a 16-pane sash window. At the rear, there is a two- and three-storey outshoot that is plain stuccoed and also has Welsh slated roofs. The interior has not been inspected.
