Description

A timber-frame barn, likely dating to the 16th century or earlier, was converted around 1926 and is now used as a flat and games hall. The barn has dark weatherboarding and a half-hipped thatched roof. It is a long, tall barn facing west, with a south gable visible from the street. A lower, gabled extension runs along the street to the west, and there is a rear aisle. A floor was inserted in the southern part of the barn, with dormers added to the front eaves. Large, four-light windows with trefoil heads and leaded glass are found in the north part of the barn. It originally served as a rectorial tithe barn for Little Hormead.
