Description
Box Tree Cottage is a house that dates from the 17th century, with a rear wing added in the 20th century. It features a timber frame resting on a brick sill and is covered in dark weatherboarding, topped with steep red tile roofs. The main part of the cottage has a half-hipped roof on the eastern side. The building is generally Z-shaped and has two storeys, with the older front range consisting of two cells and an end chimney, designed in a lobby entry plan. It faces south and has a single-storey section extending beyond the chimney at the western end. There are two windows on each floor, which are 2- and 3-light flush casement windows. Inside, there is a chimney located in the western gable.
