Description

Elm Cottage is a house that dates from the 18th century or earlier. It features a timber frame resting on a stuccoed sill, with roughcast walls and a weatherboard apron at the gable ends. The steep thatched roof is half hipped at the south end. The house is two storeys tall and has a three-cell internal chimney plan, facing west. There is a former lobby entry by the chimney located a third of the way from the north end, along with a later internal gable chimney. At the rear, there is an outshut. The front of the house has three windows on each floor, which are 19th-century flush three-light casement windows, with a two-light window in the position of a former door.
