Shelter. Circa 1923-6. S Kusumoto for Herbert Goode (1865-1937) a wealthy glass and china merchant who began the Japanese Garden in 1905. Timber and thatch. 6 inclined posts support a fan- shaped concial roof with topknot. Hexagonal curb formerly enclosing a fountain. (Japanese Garden (1933) 3).
