Description
Little Goddards Cottage is a house that possibly dates back to the 17th century and is shown on the Tithe Map of 1839. It has been altered in the 19th century. This long, one and a half storey building is weatherboarded and features decorative red tile hanging below the eaves. It has a steep old red tile roof with four gabled dormers at the eaves. There is a large central chimney located one third from the south end, which was rebuilt in the 19th century with applied shaped tiles. The rear slope of the roof extends down over a verandah. The cottage has four windows with three-light small-paned casements and two-light Yorkshire horizontal sliding windows in the dormers. It is a picturesque historic village house and is part of a group with Little Goddards to the south and other buildings in this part of the Conservation Area. It is included for its group value.
