Description
The rustic seat in the rear garden of Number 28 was built around 1766 by John Scott, a Quaker poet from Amwell House. It features a circular plan with a conical roof and a pointed arched entry. Both the walls and roof are covered in flint, with the roof having been restored in 1990. This seat is part of an important romantic garden layout created by Scott, which includes one of the finest grottos in England.
