Description

North View Cottages comprise a group of four 18th-century houses situated on the south side of Widford Ware Road in Widford village. The cottages are arranged in a symmetrical block of identical designs. The lower storeys are weatherboarded, while the upper storeys are plastered with decorative chevron patterns in pargetted panels. They have low-pitched tiled hipped roofs. The windows are casement windows in flush moulded frames, and each cottage has a boarded door recessed beneath a flat, moulded hood supported by shaped brackets. The eaves are modillioned. The cottages have handed plans and two central chimneys. Described as an historic row of two pairs of cottages, they form part of a roadside group within the local Conservation Area.
