Description
129 and 131 Cappell Lane is a house that has been converted into two cottages. It dates from the 17th century or earlier and was altered in the 19th century. The building is timber-framed and plastered, topped with an old red tile roof. It features a central chimney, which has been rebuilt in grey brick. The structure is two storeys high and has four windows facing west. The front is symmetrical and includes 19th-century features. There are half-glazed doors with segmental heads located in the middle, and each cottage has a two-light flush casement window. Above each door, there is a square two-light casement window with a small fixed window above it. A dripboard runs at floor level around the house and is supported by brackets at the eaves level across the gable. On the south end, there is a three-light window on the first floor. It is likely that a continuous front jetty has been underbuilt in plastered brickwork.
