Description

The Turvin Tomb, located 12 metres east of the chancel at Gilston Parish Church, is a late 17th-century stone rectangular tomb chest. It features a moulded plinth and a boldly moulded slab. This tomb commemorates the Turvin family, who were the owners of Terlings from 1683 to 1847. It is considered a fine example of late 17th-century monument design and is part of a group with the church.
