Description

This is a house, likely dating back to the 17th century or earlier, with a significant addition in the 18th century. It is timber-framed and has a roughcast exterior, topped by a steep thatched roof. A weatherboarded and shingled outbuilding runs along the north side of the house. The main elevation, facing east, is a two-story, three-cell plan with a central chimney and a lobby-entry arrangement. There’s a one-bay north extension with a second central chimney and lobby entrance. The facade features three windows on the first floor and four on the ground floor, with a door situated between each pair, and a gabled porch on the left-hand side. The windows are small, three-light flush casements, renewed with leaded lattice glazing. Eaves windows are located above the first floor level. The outbuilding has a three-light window and narrow windows. The main entrance door is made of two planks, with dripboards and shaped brackets. The roof has a side-purlin structure. Inside, the hall has a large open fireplace and crossbeams, with a staircase located beside the chimney stack.
