Description
The White Lodge is a lodge built in 1908 for Sir Brodie Henderson, located in Little Berkhamsted. It is constructed of stuccoed brick and features a tall pyramidal roof made of grey Westmoreland slate. The building is square in shape and has one storey with an attic. The entrance, which is recessed and faces the drive, has a half-glazed door with a raised fielded panel, and the reveals are panelled. An elaborate shell hood supported by S brackets adorns the entrance. On either side of the door, there are single light small pane casements with architraves that have cornices. The lodge has a brick plinth and deep moulded eaves with paired modillions. Each side of the building features tall pedimented dormers with two lights, and there is a tall ridge stack with rebated corners and a cornice. The right return has a three-light small pane casement, and there is a projecting outshut at the rear right. The interior has not been inspected, and there is a later flat-roofed extension to the left that is not of special interest.
