Description

The War Memorial is located on an island at the junction of Church Road, Robin's Nest Hill, and Little Berkhamsted Lane in Little Berkhamsted. It was built in 1921 and is designed in the style of Sir R. Blomfield's Great War Cross for the Imperial War Graves Commission. The memorial is made of Portland stone ashlar and features a stepped octagonal base. The octagonal cross has a moulded base, arms, and head, tapering to the top. A bronze sword is fastened to the front, and the names of those who died in the war are inscribed on it.
