Description
The farm buildings at Easneye Dairy Farm, located 40 meters north of the farmhouse, were constructed around 1868 by the architect Waterhouse for T.F. Buxton. These buildings are made of red brick featuring a pattern of black headers on the west front, topped with a red tiled roof and ornamental cresting. The U-shaped range of model farm buildings is single-storey, with walls divided into rectangular panels by moulded plinths, pilaster strips, and a moulded corbel course at the eaves band.
The entrance is through a two-storey arched gateway in the west range, which displays an armorial achievement and has a gabled tile-hung doveloft at the front, topped with a steep French roof. The structure includes buttressed tumbled brickwork that supports a moulded archway, similar to the porch at Easneye mansion. The northern range features stables that step up the slope, complete with a small tiled louvre on the ridge. In front of this northern range, there is a series of arcaded shelter sheds with arch-braced openings and similar tiled roofs. The eastern range of stables also has a tiled louvre and steps leading up to a higher gabled building that includes a hayloft above, with bargeboards and a tile-hung gable. These buildings are included for their group value with the dairy and farmhouse.
