Description

The granary at Cromer Farm is a 16th or early 17th century timber-frame building with a red brick plinth. The timber frame is visible, with red brick infill panels dating to the 18th century. The east side is weatherboarded, and the roof is covered with old red tiles. It is a single-bay, square granary facing east, located near the gate and backing onto the road, approximately 25 metres to the west of the main house. A single door is centrally located on the east side. The roof features a clasped-purlin structure with a cambered tie-beam and queen-struts to the collar. This is the oldest of the farm’s outbuildings.
