Description
Plough Cottages, located on Henworth Hall Road in Great Munden, are four cottages that have been converted into two houses, dating from the early 18th century. The buildings feature a timber frame that is weatherboarded on a stucco plinth, with the end walls and parts of the front faced in painted brick. They have a steep thatched roof that is continuous and hipped at both ends. The southern half, known as No 2, has a red brick axial central chimney, while the northern half, No 1, has had its chimney removed. The cottages form a long single-storey block facing east towards The Plough Inn. Each house has four windows: No 2 has flush casements that have been renewed, while No 1 features three-light and two-light windows. The entrances are accessed through porches that are set back at each end of the buildings.
