Description

The Moat House is an early 19th-century house, with 20th-century alterations. It is constructed of yellow stock brick with Welsh slate double roofs and yellow brick chimneys rising above parapeted gabled ends. The house is a three-bay central entry design of double depth.

The exterior presents two storeys. The first floor has three recessed 16-pane sash windows, each beneath a rubbed brick flat arch. The ground floor features two sash windows, one on either side of a central 1980s timber-framed porch with a gabled tile roof. The porch contains a six-panel door and glazed side lights. The interior of the building was not inspected.

The house was originally built as the Miller’s House for Hertingfordbury Corn Mill.
