Description

Nos. 84 to 96 High Street, known as North Church Almshouses or Church Houses, date from the 15th or 16th century. The building features a timber frame that is closely set, with an oversailing first floor and colour-washed brick nogging. It is two storeys high and has an L-shaped plan, with the roadside wing consisting of three bays. The churchyard wing, which is of a later date, has more widely spaced framing. The roof is tiled, and there are 19th-century bargeboards on the gables.
