Description

The Church of Saint Mary features a Saxon south wall and part of the west wall, with a chancel dating from the 13th century that includes 15th-century windows. The transepts are from the 13th and 14th centuries, while the tower at the crossing was built in the 15th century. A north aisle and porch were added in the 19th century, and the nave was heightened in the 15th century. Inside, there is a finely carved wall monument from 1730 and a brass memorial from 1785 dedicated to Peter of Hertswold, which includes an engraved head after Bartolozzie.
