Description

TRING RURAL TRING ROAD SP 8915 (East side) Long Marston 8/147 No. 36 - GV II House, sometime The White Hart Inn. C17, refronted mid C18, renovated C19. Timber frame exposed with plastered or painted brick infill on 1st floor of rear wall and N side of rear wing. Painted brick S wall. Tarred brick infill and weatherboarded gable top to N gable. Mid C18 red brick front chequered with vitrified headers. Steep old red tile roofs. An L-shaped house facing W with 2 storeys and attic front range and 1½ storeys rear range. W front has plinth and gauged red brick segmental arches to both floors. 2 windows on each floor and recess central over door with marks of a former fire insurance plate. 3-light wooden casement windows slightly recessed. Heavy frame to half glazed C19 door. C18 corner chimney at NW. S gable has exposed timbers at 1st floor and roughcast gable above. 2-light casement to rear room on each floor. Exposed timbers in rear wall and very large, 3-flues, external C18 chimney to rear of S half of front block and adjoining brick flue serving lean-to rear kitchen extension to S of timber framed C17 rear wing.
