Description

This is a house, likely dating from the 16th or early 17th century, with 20th-century additions to the rear. The house is timber-framed, with the frame visible on the first floor. The ground floor is filled with painted brick. The roof is steeply pitched, covered with old red tiles.

The house faces east and is two storeys high. It has a gabled wing projecting from the rear, roughly a third of the way along the north side. Further 20th-century gabled wings have been added to the rear, creating the appearance of two pairs of linked, gabled two-storey wings with a gap between them, opposite a large internal chimney in the main range. The front elevation shows timber framing of five bays; the second bay from the north has prominent tension braces. There are six flush casement windows, and a battened door is located in the north end wall. The timber frame shows wide-spaced studs. The roof is a clasped-purlin design with collar and queen-struts visible in the north gable.
