Description
The Bell Inn is a 16th-century building that was extended to the south in the mid to late 17th century and altered in the mid-19th century. It features plaster with scalloped pargetting and has a steep slate roof. The building has two storeys, with a jettied upper floor that includes six 3/6-pane sash windows. On the ground floor, there are three canted sash window bays. The southern end of the building shows some exposed half-timber and brick nogging. Inside, the interior boasts exposed ceiling beams, with two bays on the north side featuring classical cornice mouldings that create rectangular fields. Within these fields are plaster armorial bearings set in circles and lozenges. There is also a fireplace on the southern wall, accompanied by deep nooks on the western side.
