Description
The Garden Pavilion at Number 106, known as The Cottage, is a small loggia located on the north side of the garden in Cheshunt. It is a modern construction that incorporates an early 18th-century screen made of wooden columns and pilasters, which were taken from the staircase hall of the now-demolished Whit Hern House. The pavilion features two columns 'in antis' in the Ionic order, which have canted volutes, a pulvinated frieze, and a modillioned cornice. The side walls are made of yellow brick.
