Description

Mandeville is a 1908 house, a good example of the Edwardian vernacular revival style, and is attributed to M H Baillie Scott. The house is constructed of red brick with a machine tile roof and has two storeys and attics. The west front features five gables and two projecting gable ends, with a roughly symmetrical design. The first floor has three segmental-headed, three-light leaded casements with tile-creasing hoods. Similar ground floor casements are located on either side of a segmental-headed door recess. The brickwork courses curve over the segmental heads to imitate old walling. A lozenge-shaped leaded plaque displaying the date is above the door. Long rainwater heads with Latin inscriptions are positioned above the first floor. Inside, a large, Jacobean-style oak newel staircase is located on the south side.
