Description
North House and South House are an early 19th century former stable block located on the east side of Hoddesdon High Street. They are constructed of red brick with an old tile hipped roof and cemented ground floors on the north and south sides. The building has two storeys and a brick dentil cornice. The north elevation features a 2:1:2 window arrangement, with a slightly projecting pedimented centre and rubbed brick relieving arches at the ends and centre. The windows are 2-light casements on the first floor and a central leaded light with vertical mullions. The road elevation, with two windows, has broad wooden architrave surrounds featuring triglyph consoles and 8/8-pane sashes on the ground floor.
