Lantern Cottage is a 17th-century house, altered in the mid-19th century. It is a timber-framed building, clad in weatherboarding, with a modern red tile roof. A central chimney stack is constructed of red brick. The house is one storey high with attics. It has two windows, a gabled porch, and small-paned casement windows with pointed arched toplights.
