Description
Church Cottages is a range of 17th century timber-framed cottages that were refaced in gault brick during the 19th century. At the rear, there is a later timber-framed and plastered block, likely from the 18th century. The cottages are two storeys high and feature a four-window range with double-hung sashes that have single vertical glazing bars set in plain reveals. The roofs are tiled. Inside, the cottages display exposed timber-framing. Notably, at the east end of the roof, there is an area of plaster that features a late 17th century painting of the Lord's Prayer. Although it once included the date 1686 or 1688, that detail is no longer visible.
