Description
The Church of All Saints is a parish church that dates back to the 12th century, with additions and alterations from the 14th, 18th, and 19th centuries. It is constructed of rendered rubble with limestone dressings and features a red plain tiled roof. The 12th-century nave includes four 14th-century windows, one of which has two trefoiled lights and another with four trefoiled lights. The tower arch is from the 19th century, while the south doorway from the 12th century has a semi-circular arch with three orders, detached shafts, and cushion capitals. The west windows were added in the 19th century. The chancel, originally from the 14th century, has been completely altered in the 19th century. A north vestry and vault were added in 1795, and the northwest tower and steeple were constructed in 1856 by Reverend C.I. Smith. Inside, there is a 14th-century rood screen featuring cusped tracery and an embattled cornice, along with two brasses dating from 1593 and 1578. Most of the internal detailing is from 1856.
