Description
Blatches is a house dating from the early 16th century. It is constructed with a timber frame and plastered exterior, topped with a red plain tile roof. The building has two storeys and attics, featuring gabled crosswings on both the east and west sides. The west crosswing has a hipped roof at the rear with a small gablet. The crosswings, which were originally jettied, are now underbuilt. The front has a range of four windows, which are 19th-century double hung sashes with glazing bars. There is a simple door surround and decorative pierced bargeboards at the rear, also from the 19th century. The original red brick chimney stacks have mostly been rebuilt in the 19th century. Additionally, there is a single storey extension at the west end, which has a hipped red plain tile roof.
