Description

Cottage located in Culbone, dating from around 1580, with extensions and alterations from the 17th century. The building is timber framed and plastered, topped with a hipped thatched roof. It has one storey and attics, featuring a two-window range of 20th-century casements. There are late 16th-century red brick chimney stacks, and a 17th-century extension at the west end. The frame is exposed internally, with one bay originally open, now containing a 17th-century inserted floor. The structure includes jowled storey posts and an arch-braced side purlin roof.
