Picturesque ruin now set on green amongst modern bungalows. Early C19. Red brick core, flint cobble faced with composition dressings with moulded irregularity. Plan comprises round tower set into N side of a mound with wall projecting on SW side. 2 storeys. Approx 6.2m high. Elevation from NE: tower to left has central 2-centre arch doorway, square framed with keystone lintel with bearded face on keystone. 2 lancet windows on either side. First floor, over doorway, 2-centre arch-headed window with label. To SW, lower section of window aperture. Above, over doorway, fragment of embattled moulded coping. Wall to SW, reduced in height from tower, pair of buttresses and 2 blind windows at ground level, one has label, 3 lights, intersecting tracery, other less complete. INTERIOR: tower ground floor has composition ring base with central depression. Remains of wooden posts as colonnade round ring. Walls have sheets of bark attached, once completely, as a cover. Joists to first floor mostly gone. First floor wall has remains of shell and pebble decoration.
