Description

Shrubs Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 16th century or possibly earlier. It is constructed with a timber frame and plastered exterior, topped with peg tiles. The main block features a half-hipped gablet roof and has a large 17th-century style chimney that rises through the front roof slope. The building is two storeys high and includes a two-storey extension at the southwest end, which has a half-hipped roof, along with a lean-to on the north end of this side. The front of the farmhouse displays 19th-century casement windows and an off-centre door. It is likely that this building was originally an in-line hall house.
