Description
Shepherds is a house dating from the 15th or 16th century, with later additions and alterations. It features a timber frame and plastered exterior, with some sections covered in weatherboarding. The roof is red plain tiles, half-hipped to the right, and there is a lower range to the left. The house has two storeys and mainly consists of two ranges, with three-light windows and one window on the ground floor of the recessed left range. A central, hipped, red-tiled enclosed porch with a glazed door leads into the house, which also has a nailed board door. There is a red brick chimney stack and two external chimney stacks at the rear. Inside, there are three brick fireplaces of different ages: one from the early 16th century with a cambered mantel beam, another with a straight beam, and a later one with a rough-hewn beam. The interior also features original doors and moulded beams, as well as stop-chamfered beams.
